欢声辞旧岁，笑语迎新年。在这个举国同庆的日子里，我们欢聚一堂，共同庆祝即将到来的中华民族传统节日——春节。在此，我谨代表加纳华侨华人社团联合总会、加纳中华工商总会、加纳中国和平统一促进会向各位领导、各位来宾、各界朋友致以新年的祝福！祝愿大家在新的一年里平安吉祥、幸福安康！

A very warm welcome to everyone and it is a great pleasure to join you this evening for the celebration of another Chinese New Year. On behalf of the Chinese community in Ghana, I’d like to begin with my best wishes to you as we celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Mouse and also to wish you the best in the new year! The year of the mouse is considered a year of new beginnings and renewals. It is going to be a strong, prosperous, and lucky year.

回顾2019年，在大使馆的领导下，在加纳各界华侨华人朋友的支持下，总会全体同仁团结一致，各项工作正常运转。

2019年恰逢中华人民共和国成立70周年，在大使馆的领导下，总会联合其他兄弟商会举办了一系列庆祝活动。“2019丝路画语艺术展”；“爱国护港”集会；“庆祝中华人民共和国成立70周年文艺晚会”；组织华侨华人免费观看国庆大片《我和我的祖国》；“庆祝中华人民共和国成立70周年——邓予立巡回摄影展”等活动，均获得圆满成功。

2019年总会共发出12封邀请函，为国内访问团及个人办理赴加签证提供便利，共接待、协助接待国内9个访问团，帮助处理多起中国企业与加纳人的商业纠纷、土地纠纷，为华侨华人提供法律咨询、法律援助。特别是为受到不公正司法待遇，被判无期徒刑的犯人尹明柱申请大赦成功。在使馆2019年度优秀领事协助志愿单位表彰大会中，总会也获得“优秀领事协助志愿单位”荣誉称号。

2020年是中加建交60周年，两国关系发展必将迎来新的机遇。我们将在使馆的领导下，继续团结广大华侨华人，加强会员之间的互动和交流，推动华侨华人事业不断发展，同时进一步推广中华文化，促进中加两国之间的友谊更上一层楼！

Celebrations like this provides an important occasion to review the past year and look to the upcoming one. I also think there’s a lot to celebrate in terms of the relationship between China and Ghana. In the past year we have seen great strides in terms of our economic relationship and am sure the coming year would usher in even greater economic and trade co operations.

Ladies and gentlemen

For so many decades the Chinese community have been an integral part of the Ghanaian society. We have been industry players in trade and commerce and have made substantial contributions to the Ghanaian economy. With the cooperation of our Ghanaian counterparts, we would continue to do that through hard work and fortitude.

It is my hope that the Year of the Mouse will bring good fortune, peace and strength to all.  I wish China-Ghanaian relations reach new heights and yield greater fruits. I wish you good health, thriving business, and good luck in the New year.
