DECLARATION ON THE 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHINA’S ANTI-SECESSION LAW

This year is the 15th anniversary of the implementation of the Anti-Secession Law, we, the Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification in China (Ghana) hereby solemnly declare that we stronglyuphold and safeguard the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations and also firmly oppose all acts of external interference in China’s internal affairs in relation to Taiwan.

The Anti-Secession Law has played an important role in curbing the separatist forces of “Taiwan Independence”and has provided a solid guarantee of the rule of law for safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and promoting the process of peaceful reunification.

In recent years the separatist elements in Taiwan has refused to stand by the “92 Consensus” and engaged in “Taiwan independence” activities deviating from the One-China policy under the principle of the Consensus.

The Anti-secession Law embodies the common aspiration of the Chinese people at home and abroad to achieve peaceful national reunification and puts forward the propositions and measures to maintain the stability of the Straits. It promotes cross-strait exchanges and cooperationand political consultation and draws a red line for any forces and individuals who seek to divide China.

We sincerely hope that the separatist elements of “Taiwan independence” adhere to the provisions of the Anti-secession Law to promote cross-strait relations which shall overcome difficulties and move forward in the direction of complete reunification of the motherland.

Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification in China, Ghana has been supporting and will continue to support the Anti-secession Law.  Wecondemn any person who dares insist on splitting Tainwan from China under the disguise of “Taiwan independence” .
